AMERITA, INC. ACQUIRES AUSTIN PARENTERAL SERVICES
Austin Parenteral partners with Amerita, completing
plans to provide patients
with high quality specialty
infusion services across the state of Texas.
Irvine, California, January 24, 2007 – Amerita, Inc. announced today
that it has acquired Austin Parenteral Services (APS) located at 1600 West
38th Street, Suite 132, Austin, TX 78731. Founded by Nannette Nau Overbeck,
R.Ph.; Gary Overbeck, R.Ph.; and Brian Newberry, R.Ph. in 1983, APS has provided
excellent service and clinical care to patients in the Austin area with a wide
range of acute and chronic health conditions, such as infections, auto-immune
illnesses, cancer, pain, multiple sclerosis, and nutritional deficiencies.
The company expects to retain the existing clinical and customer service staff
of APS and will invest in sales and marketing personnel to grow the business
within Austin and the surrounding communities, reports Jim Glynn, CEO of Amerita,
Inc. The purchase completes the company’s acquisition plans in the Texas
market and positions Amerita to provide statewide coverage to patients in need
of high-tech specialty infusion services outside of the hospital.
“We now we have operations in Amarillo, Dallas, Austin and San Antonio.
We will soon open locations in Houston and El Paso. This footprint of six local
branches gives us the coverage we need to provide superior specialty infusion
services in major metropolitan markets throughout Texas, as well as the breadth
to provide care anywhere in the State,” said Glynn.
Amerita’s business model is to acquire specialty infusion service companies
like APS that have great clinical and service reputations and continue to locally
manage the business to assure the responsiveness, quality and personal touch
that customers expect. As the company grows, it expects to introduce new clinical
programs, improve purchasing power, develop operating efficiencies and enter
into regional provider contracts so that the local businesses can successfully
compete against national providers today and in the future.
Amerita, Inc. www.ameritaiv.com is a privately held
Specialty Infusion company focused on providing complex pharmaceutical products
and clinical services to patients outside of the hospital. This market is expanding
rapidly and is driven by increasing healthcare costs, a growing bio-pharmaceutical
pipeline of infuseable and injectable medications and an aging population.
Amerita is headquartered at 20 Fairbanks, Suite 173, Irvine, CA 92618. Phone:
