ACCESS THERAPEUTICS INFUSION JOINS AMERITA, INC. AND IS POISED FOR GROWTH IN SPECIALTY INFUSION MARKET

Access Therapeutics Infusion partners with Amerita, Inc. to expand clinical programs in South Texas under local management.

Irvine, California, October 9, 2006 – Amerita, Inc. announced it has acquired Access Therapeutics Infusion located at 1919 Oakwell Farms Parkway, Suite 160 in San Antonio. According to the company, the acquisition is a strategic investment that retains local management while helping extend the reach of quality specialty infusion services to patients in the south Texas area.

Specialty infusion therapy services primarily involve the intravenous administration of medications that treat a wide range of acute and chronic health conditions such as infections, auto-immune illnesses, cancer, pain, multiple sclerosis, hemophilia and nutritional deficiencies. To ensure quality, medications are compounded in a sterile clean room, dispensed under the supervision of a local registered pharmacist and delivered directly to the home of the patient. A registered nurse then ensures safe administration of the medication.

“We chose to partner with Amerita because they understand that in the service business, you’re only as good as your employees,” said co-founder of Access Therapeutics Infusion, Greg McLain.

Co-founder Sharon Daugherty, RPh, said, “Unlike large national providers that consolidate companies and lay-off employees, Amerita wanted to keep our staff, provide them with better benefits, and help us grow our business in southern Texas.”

According to Amerita CEO, Jim Glynn, Access Therapeutics Infusion will continue to be locally managed by company founders Greg McLain and Sharon Daugherty, RPh, and the current staff will be retained. “We’re excited about our investment in Access Therapeutics Infusion and the opportunity to expand quality specialty infusion services into the south Texas market, said Glynn. “The ability to service patients in the San Antonio market will complement our existing operations in Amarillo and Dallas and moves us closer to our vision of becoming a State-wide provider of specialty infusion services in Texas.”

According to Glynn, Amerita’s business model is to acquire specialty infusion service companies like Access Therapeutics Infusion that have great clinical and service reputations and then continue to locally manage the business to assure the responsiveness, quality and personal touch that customers expect. Being part of a larger business provides increased cost efficiencies and improved purchasing power so that local businesses can compete against national providers today and in the future, said Glynn.

Amerita, Inc. www.ameritaiv.com is a privately held Specialty Infusion company focused on providing complex pharmaceutical products and clinical services to patients outside of the hospital. This market is expanding rapidly and is driven by increasing healthcare costs, a growing bio-pharmaceutical pipeline of infuseable and injectable medications and an aging population. Amerita is headquartered at 20 Fairbanks, Suite 173, Irvine, CA 92618. Phone: (949) 273-6528 / Fax: (949) 273-6547
